A Comforting Balance

After a pandemic and the global shock, I find inspiration by drawing comparisons with the 1950s, when simplicity, comfort and order prevailed alongside hope and advancement. The simple structure overlaps with the warmth generated by handmade textures. Straight lines are manipulated to creating movement and rhythm, while simple geometric forms reassure and maintain stillness.

I start by analysing our collective needs, before stepping into an inspirational study of the 50s, before superimposing my drawings to find simplicity and comfort. Talva Design
