A contribution to care: the new Pediatric Onco‑hematology Day Hospital at the Infermi Hospital in Rimini
We are honored to have contributed to the creation of the new Pediatric Onco‑hematology Day Hospital at the Infermi Hospital in Rimini—a center of excellence dedicated to children and adolescents affected by complex oncological and hematological conditions. Recognized by AIEOP (Italian Association of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology) as the sole reference center in Romagna for the 0–18 age group, the department is a vital point of reference for the region.
A project with high human and social value
This initiative stems from a virtuous synergy among institutions, associations, and private entities, united by the desire to offer a more humane, welcoming, and functional care environment. An endeavor that goes beyond the healthcare dimension, embracing the deeper values of listening, beauty, and respect for young patients and their families.
The space as part of the therapeutic journey
In such a delicate context, the environment itself can become a tool of healing. The design was conceived to instill serenity, reduce anxiety, and accompany children and parents along the therapeutic journey with sensitivity and care.
Our wallpapers adorn rooms and corridors, transforming hospital spaces into places where imagination takes form—making the hospital feel more familiar, welcoming, and deeply human.
The graphics, conceived and realized in collaboration with designer partners, use a visual language inspired by the world of childhood: gentle forms, reassuring hues, and symbols capable of communicating with delicacy and empathy. An aesthetic that is not merely decorative, but an integral part of the care experience.
A virtuous synthesis of design, environmental sustainability, and the therapeutic value of space—accompanying children and families with beauty and attention.
Care is also in the spaces
As Dr. Roberta Pericoli, Director of Pediatric Onco‑hematology, emphasizes:
"Even the space can heal. A child‑sized environment reduces the perception of illness and the sense of fear, while emphasizing the child's healthy dimension."
This project represents a concrete step toward the humanization of hospital environments, demonstrating how design, material quality, and aesthetic attention can become integral parts of the healing process.
