Anna Vermiglia De Carlo
Artist, painter, illustrator
Born in Milan, Anna is an artist who has always alternated and blended all her many activities, superimposing genres and techniques. All these various expressive forms have enabled her to create over time the depiction of a particular distinctive world,. Her brass sheet metal sculptures that glitter and dance in the air, are held in many private and foreign collections, as well as her paintings and drawings. She also successfully dedicated herself to various forms of design, from table lamps to graphics, animation films, textiles, glass art and wall paper. Her constant research, in so many different undertakings, have also led her to design a garden furniture line produced in Salento by local artisans.
She studied at M.I.T. of Cambridge, USA, where she developed her artistic training at C.A.V.S. (Center for Advanced Visual Studies). She worked as creator, author and creative designer of “L’Albero Azzurro”, a TV Show, on Italy’s main channel RAI1.
Her books have been published by prominent Italian publishing houses such as: Rizzoli, Bompiani, Electa, Fabbri, Nuages, De Agostini, Emme. Her illustrations have been regularly featured in many Italian magazines and newspapers: La Repubblica, La Stampa, Abitare, Amica, Esquire, Il Messaggero, L’Europeo, Il Giornale della Musica, Spazio & Società.
She has been involved in several architectural projects with her father, architect Giancarlo De Carlo. Her “Donne Fiorite are also on Murano glass plates in a special collection of “Vetrofuso di Daniela Poletti” sold in the most exclusive home design shops in the world, and from 2023 the “Donne Fiorite” collection is also in the Musèe des art decoratifs at the Louvre. Her drawings have become part of the Wall&Decò Wallpaper collections from 2022. And are in a “Capsule Collection” of Caterina Lucchi/Campomaggi bags.
She lives between Milan, Robecco sul Naviglio, Salento and Berlin. She has two children: Jessica and Leo Einaudi.
