Wallpaper as atmosphere: Wall&decò for The Runnymede on Thames

At The Runnymede on Thames, a riverside hotel near Windsor, Wall&decò wallpapers play a key role in shaping the atmosphere of the interiors, turning walls into an active design element within the overall hospitality concept. In the guestrooms, the wallcovering creates an immersive backdrop that enhances the sense of comfort and retreat. In the hotel’s food & beverage areas, it adds rhythm, softness and visual continuity, contributing to spaces conceived for conviviality, relaxation and shared experience.
The selection focuses on graphics from the Contemporary Wallpaper Collection, where large-scale imagery becomes a way to shape perception and emotion. Field of Gold, designed by Lorenzo De Grandis, recalls the memory of a windy summer day in a golden-yellow field in bloom. Naif, by Eva Germani, translates the spontaneity of hills and freely growing wildflowers into a poetic and instinctive composition. Du Jour, also by Lorenzo De Grandis, explores the trompe-l’oeil effect applied to glass-cement, generating the illusion of depth and opening the wall to a three-dimensional perspective.
All graphics were printed on d.ecodura™, Wall&decò’s interior wallcovering developed to combine sustainability, durability and beauty without compromise. Made with BIOVYN™, a bio-based material derived from wood-industry residues and associated with a 97.6% lower carbon footprint than conventional PVC, d.ecodura™ is EPD certified and answers the practical needs of high-use interiors with features such as washability, excellent impact resistance and suitability for residential and contract applications.
A project where wallcovering helps translate hospitality into atmosphere, texture and identity.
