History and design: a castle's elegance

October 2023
Bozen, Italy

Nestled among the vineyards of Alto Adige and embraced by a centuries-old park, the Schloss Freudenstein, a 13th-century castle, transports its guests to an enchanted world where the past seamlessly melds with the beauty of the surrounding nature.

In the castle's suites, the 'La Isla Bonita' wallpaper serves as a backdrop for the canopy bed, positioned under a sloping ceiling that almost seems to touch the sky. Its pattern, featuring leaves in shades of green and brown and black vertical lines reminiscent of elegant ribbed fabric, adds a touch of verticality to the environment, evoking the unique architecture of the bed.

In the bathroom area, the large Japanese koi fish from 'Tangerine' wallpaper extends along the shower wall. This unexpected oriental element in a setting dominated by a rustic-modern style creates an extraordinary interaction, breaking with the castle's historical ties and creating a new chapter of design and culture.

Lastly, 'Yoku,' with its white background and relief golden vertical lines, engages with the ceiling beams, bringing forth a more classical atmosphere that evokes the authentic essence of the castle.
